The Spirit Of Nature

I've just come home from a very special week in Oslo, a week mixed with both business and pleasure.

Unfortunately it ended with the horrible terror attack. My thoughts goes out to the ones who lost friends and family....

I have been sketching alot for the Norwegian metallband "Borknagar" the last months, and I brought a prototype for a Borknagar hoodie along with me.

I had a meeting with Jens F. Ryland from Borknagar in the rock merchandise shop "Rockmerch" located in Thorvald Meyers gate in Oslo, where I showed him my hand painted Borknagar hoodie

Jens also introduced me to Glenn from Rockmerch, and hopefully this meeting will result in a cooperation in the future.

And this was the pleasure.....

It's so easy !

This design was inspired of the good old Guns'n'roses days,

Axl Rose, painted on a grey cotton hoodie for my brother.

The Days Of Grays - a Sonata Arctica hoodie

Just a quick update, showing pictures of one of my first complete works, with design on the front, back and the hood.

At first I painted their logo on the hood, with silver color and black outlines...

... and put the quote "I hope your wish came true - Mine betrayed me" on the front.

Topping the whole project with a backpiece painting of the lead vocal singer Tony Kakko

Shape Of Things To Come

I painted this Chris Cornell portrait on the back of a hoodie a couple of months ago.

This hoodie was my reunion with him after his "experimental solo project" that actually led to a divorce between him and me. But lately I missed his amazing voice, and now we date again, having an agreement to NEVER talk about his affair with Timbaland.... I guess it won't be a surprise for you that more Cornell art is on it's way....

Looks that kill!

I always try to improve my technique and style, so I decided to try paint a shirt with more than one colour.

This time i choosed a very famous picture of Nikki Sixx, where he is covering half his face with the bass head. I really enjoy painting pictures with more than the face. Including the hands, some tattoo's, jewelrys and maybe an instrument in the picture gives the picture a more personal touch.

Music feeds me!

Another great inspiration and favourite artist to do is Nikki Sixx!

On the front of the sweather i created a logo by using pieces from a drawing in Heroin Diaries book, mixed with a big blood splat and a quote from Nikki himself: "Music Feeds Me"

Doctor Alibi

My second "Getaway Rock Festival" project was a T-shirt for my hubby. He wanted me to make one of the headliners during the festival week; A Megadeth T-shirt. But me and Dave did not get along, he has not the most charakteristic face for doing a t-shirt portrait either, so instead I created a T-shirt with an artist with tons of charakter:

LEMMY!
Motorhead was headlining day 2 at the festival. I found this cool picture of Lemmy on front of his book "White Line Fever" that I used. This T-shirt got alot of attention at the festival, especially in the hotel lobby after party! Completely strangers came up to us and wanted to buy the shirt. Cool!!!!! :)

Back home from Gävle i decided to make som hoodies. I had one boring grey hoodie lying around, and I started to paint a Slash picture on the back of it. I did a little mistake by using a model picture without the complete guitar on, and at that time I didn't have the confidence to improvise a guitar neck, something that made the backpiece look a bit strange when the hood is up. Slash's face and hat turned out real nice, and it's quite easy to paint a person with this much karisma and charakter. And of course... You can never have to many clothes with Slash on...

I later made a Motorhead hoodie for my son, using the same picture as a model for the backpiece.

Let's blame Slash !

When I bought the tickets to the swedish rock music festival, "Getaway Rock", I also searched after nice band clothes to wear. After several hours searching stores and Web-shops, I came to the conclusion that there are no really nice rock clothes for females. I had to make my own clothes with my own rock design on...

Beeing a 100% full-blooded Slash fan, and the fact that Slash was playing at the "Getaway Rock Festival", made me start the design of a Slash painting. I searched the Internet and found a picture of him smoking, with his hat and sunglasses on. Earlier I had spillt som paint on my favourite jeans, and I decided to cover this accident by painting the picture I found on them.

I was really satisfied with the jeans, and all the nice comments and attention they got at the festival made me make even more ... So let's blame Slash! It's because of him that I started this...

By the way. I got my hands on a photopass at the earlier mentioned rock festival. So to all of you who loves Slash, great rock music and summer festivals: This picture is for you!
